By 1st Sgt. Chad D. Hill, Public Information Officer

MILFORD — Kosciusko County officials are currently investigating a vehicular traffic crash south of the town of Milford that has left a Warsaw man dead.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded today at 2 p.m. to a reported head-on vehicular crash located on State Road 15 near County Road 1000 North. Responders located the driver of a 2008 Ford Expedition, identified as Luis Antonio Villa Romero, 35, Warsaw, pinned inside his vehicle.  Lutheran E.M.S. paramedics requested the Kosciusko County Coroner, Antony Ciriello, who arrived and pronounced Romero deceased from blunt force trauma injuries.

Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. reconstructionist stated that a preliminary investigation into the crash has determined that Romero had been traveling southbound on State Road 15, when, for an unknown reason, his vehicle crossed the center of the roadway.  Romero’s vehicle struck the front portion of a northbound 2008 Kenworth dump truck that was been driving by Donald D. Radabaugh, 58, Warsaw.  Officers stated that skid marks and evidence at the crash scene were indicative that Radabaugh had been braking and attempted an evasive movement to avoid the collision prior to impact.

Officers stated that the crash is still currently under investigation.  The Kosciusko County F.A.C.T. team was assisted at the scene by members of the Milford Fire Department, Lutheran Kosciusko E.M.S., Warsaw/Wayne Township Fire Territory, and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department.
