

PLYMOUTH — Two South Bend men were arrested Saturday afternoon after taking several items from Lowe’s in Plymouth.
Dedrick Murdick Cookbey, 25, and Lineson Fitzgerald Powell, 26, both from South Bend, were arrested and initially charged with theft. A case report will be completed and forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s office for review.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a call at 4:09 p.m. Friday from officials at Lowe’s, stating two men had allegedly entered the store and stole several items, including power tools and left in a Ford SUV. Officers located the vehicle and subjects in the area of US 31 and Sixth Road. One of the individuals fled on foot and was not found. Cookbey and Powell were in the vehicle and apprehended.
The alleged stolen items and power tools were recovered within the vehicle.
