WARSAW — It was on Sept. 28, a county officer suffered injury to his right finger and a dislocated shoulder after being drug approximately 30 feet by a suspect who attempted to flee police on a moped. The individual was arrested Saturday evening by Warsaw Police.
Christopher Todd Warren, 27, 54 EMS B38B Lane, Leesburg, was arrested and booked in the county jail at 11:28 p.m. Saturday. He is initially charged with intimidation and resisting law enforcement, both level 6 felonies and criminal mischief, a class a misdemeanor. He was also arrested on a warrant from another agency.
According to court documents police were called to a report of intimidation at 1624 Chapman Lake Drive, Warsaw, on Sept. 28, after receiving a telephone call that Warren had threatened to kill an individual when she returned home. The female caller stated she believed he would kill her and had already damaged the residence.
Police went to the home and were met at the door by Warren. Warren and the female, who arrived at the residence after police, argued in front of the officer. During the argument, Warren turned around and police saw an eight-inch blade in his back pocket. The knife was given to the female.
Warren became agitated and fled from the officer who commanded him to stop. During the chase, Warren got on a moped, which had its engine running, and started to drive off. The officer grabbed the back of the moped attempting to stop Warren. This caused the officer to be drug 30 feet before he lost his grip and Warren fled the area.
The female showed police the damage Warren had caused inside the residence. A locked interior door had been broken to allow entry, and a 39-inch television set was broken. The damage to the items totaled $1,050.
