WARSAW — Marcus Deunte Brooks, 31, 2441 West CR 250S, Warsaw, was arrested Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 9, and charged with strangulation, intimidation and domestic battery. He was held on $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.

Documents were filed in Kosciusko Superior Court Thursday, Sept 10, detailing the events leading to his arrest.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was called Sept. 9 to meet with a woman who wanted an individual removed from her home. Stacy King met police at Walnut Creek Church.

King told police Brooks has been living with her as boyfriend/girlfriend since December 2014. The couple had an argument at which time he threw her on the bed and put his hands around her throat, choking her. She stated her breathing was restricted and it caused pain in her neck. She reported an uncle was present when Brooks grabbed her by the throat and Brooks told her if she called police she was signing her death warrant.

Police did observe marks on King’s neck and right arm.

Brooks allegedly admitted to police the altercation turned physical and he put his hands on King.
