Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:
Sunday, June 15, 11:46 p.m. East Bell Drive and North Biomet Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Anna E. Gann, 17, North 1050 West, Etna Green. Gann was approaching the “T” intersection and attempted to make a right turn onto Bell Drive when the vehicle left the road and struck a cement barrier. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, June 15, 7:20 p.m. East U.S. 30 and East 250 South, Pierceton. Driver: Kent A. Briar, 50, North Riverwood Ranch Road, Warsaw. Briar was riding his motorcycle and struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500
Sunday, June 15, 4:42 a.m. West U.S. 30 and North 500 West, Warsaw. Driver: Sulejman Dogo, 53, Singletree Place, Fort Wayne. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000
Sunday, June 15, 12:20 a.m. East 1100 North and North 450 East, Syracuse. Driver: Riley S. Weber, 17, East Duffy Drive, Syracuse. A deer crossed Weber’s path, which caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a telephone box. Damages: up to $5,000
Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Sunday, June 15, 11:55 p.m. Walton Boulevard and Shelden Street. Driver: Osvaldo Rodriguez, 17, South Circle Drive, Warsaw. Rodriguez claimed he was not able to steer the vehicle and, at the curve between Jaylynn Street and Shelden Street struck the curb and left the roadway, causing extensive damage to the vehicle and front tires. The investigating officer determined from skid marks at the scene that Rodriguez was likely driving too fast and was not able to control the vehicle around the curve. Damages: up to $10,000
Winona Lake Police Department
Officers of the Winona Lake Police Department recently investigated the following accident:
Sunday, June 15, 4:45 a.m. East U.S. 30 and South 325 East, Winona Lake. Driver: Douglas G. Snep, 49, East 1150 South, Claypool. Snep was westbound on U.S. 30 traveling approximately 60 mph when he struck a deer. Both Snep and a passenger in his vehicle declined medical treatment. Damages: up to $5,000
