Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Saturday, June 14, 6:08 p.m. South Packerton and Pierceton roads. Driver: Austin L. King, 22, North Brown Road, Columbia City. King said a red car distracted him, causing him to run off of the road and strike a fence and a utility pole. Winona Lake Police took over the investigation for possible OWI charges. Damages: up to $25,000

Saturday, June 14, 1:01 p.m. EMS T6A and T6 lanes, North Webster. Driver: Rose M. Bueno, 31, East Old Road 30, Warsaw. Bueno was backing and struck a mailbox. Damages: up to $2,500

Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Saturday, June 14, 3:47 p.m. North Detroit Street and Chevy Way. Drivers: Mallorie B. Stiver, 17, North 150 East, Warsaw; and Rachel L. Sudhoff, 24, Sophie Lane, Warsaw. Stiver was northbound on Detroit Street and traffic came to a sudden stop in front of her, causing her to rear-end the Sudhoff vehicle. Damages: up to $25,000

Saturday, June 14, 11:54 a.m. Anchorage Road and Sunset Drive. Drivers: Jan K. Carter, 61, West Van Buren Street, Leesburg. Carter said an unknown driver turned in front of her causing the collision. The driver of that vehicle sped away, but a witness identified her. Police have not yet made contact with the second driver. Damages: up to $5,000
