Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Sunday, March 23, 12:50 p.m. Columbia Street near Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Ziyan Chen, 27, Walter Way, Warsaw; and Antonia T. Martinez, 22, West Street, Warsaw. Chen drove through a stop sign causing a collision with Martinez. Damages: up to $5,000

Sunday, March 23, 8:18 a.m. West 350 South near SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Dolinger Daugherty, 52, 400 South, Warsaw. Daugherty swerved to miss a deer and ran off the road. Damages: up to $5,000

Saturday, March 22, 6:40 a.m. SR 25 near South 1300 West, Mentone. Driver: Robert R. Devault, 73, 12th Road, Plymouth. Devault struck a horse that ran in front of his vehicle. The horse fled the scene. Damages: up to $2,500

Saturday, March 22, 6:37 a.m. SR 25 near South 1300 West, Mentone. Driver: Douglas E. Hollan, 43, 675 East, North Webster. Hollan struck a horse that ran into the roadway. It is believed that this is the same horse from the incident with Robert Devault. The horse is still at large. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, March 21, 7:26 p.m. U.S. 30 near Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Driver: Joe T. Brennan, 45, Grove Park Drive, Columbia City. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, March 21, 5:12 p.m. Armstrong Road near North 200 East, Leesburg. Drivers: Janet G. Peterson, 66, Kings Drive, Syracuse; and Perry D. Weimer, 53, SR 5, Pierceton. Peterson pulled in front of Weimer causing a collision. Peterson was checked by EMS at the scene, and Weimer was transported to KCH. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, March 21, 8:42 a.m. Old Road 30 near North 900 East, Pierceton. Driver: Stephanie A. Stratton, 27, EMS R481 Lane, Pierceton. Stratton lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway and collided with a stop sign. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, March 21, 7:52 a.m. Packerton Road near East 700 South, Warsaw. Driver: Angela L. Bonewitz, 38, Market Street, North Manchester. Bonewitz slid on a patch of ice, left the roadway and struck a KREMC pole. She was checked by EMS at the scene for injuries to her face. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, March 21, 7:21 a.m. West 1350 North near North 200 West, Milford. Driver: Shanna S. Bontrager, 36, Main Street, Milford. Bontrager hit a patch of ice, slid off the road and struck a tree. She was transported to Goshen Hospital by EMS. Driver struck deer. Damages: up to $25,000

Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Saturday, March 22, 5:35 p.m. Detroit Street near Main Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Carol M. Hagen, 56, Lincoln Avenue, Goshen; and Garrett D. Butler, 33, Troebridge Court, Fort Wayne. Hagen pulled into the intersection causing a collision with Butler. Damages: up to $5,000

Saturday, March 22, 8:48 a.m. Main Street near Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lllian Z. Snell, 61, Wooster Road, Pierceton; parked. Snell rear-ended a parked car. Damages: up to $5,000
