WARSAW — The investigation into the cause of the fire that destroyed the Warsaw Community Schools Bus Garage early Thursday, Jan. 7, is on hold.
Warsaw-Wayne Fire Township Fire Chief Michael Wilson reports the investigation is on hold until manufacturers of products, in the area where the fire is believed to have started, can make the site. It is estimated this will be two weeks.
Initial reports were two 66 passenger school buses, two special needs buses and a transit bus were lost in the fire. Also lost were tools and equipment.
School officials report investigators and adjusters are still working on what was lost.
No Contamination
Several agencies were called to the scene concerning potential contamination due to water run off. Wilson reports all contamination was controlled and the one area of concern, near the Zimmer-Biomet building, has been tested by the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and cleared.
