WARSAW — A local woman was arrested Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Warsaw.
Molly Elizabeth Rowe, 38, 612 Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail for two counts of fraud on a financial institution, level 5 felonies; theft and check fraud, both level 6 felonies.
The probable cause filed in Kosciusko Superior Court 1 stated Warsaw Police Officer Jeffrey Ticknor responded at a fraud on a financial institution Nov. 12 at Indiana Lakes Federal Credit Union. Ticknor spoke to David Brumbaugh, who advised Rowe opened an account with a $650 check Oct. 20 and proceeded to obtain two loans equaling $9,500 plus a $125 processing fee. The loan was for a 2009 Mazda 6 from R&B Car Company.
Over the next two days, Rowe deposited all $9,500 into her account, and withdrew it immediately. After withdrawing the money, Indiana Federal Credit Union received word of Rowe’s initial fraudulent check.
Rowe proceeded to withdraw $400 more from her account Oct. 27. Rowe then deposited two more fraudulent checks equaling $2,900.
Ticknor spoke with R&B Car Company, and a representative advised Rowe had bought the 2009 Mazda 6 with a fraudulent check, in the amount of $3,500 and was still driving the car. She had not been approved for a loan by another financial institution.
Teacher’s Credit Union advised Rowe had opened an account Oct. 13 with a fraudulent cashiers check for $2,875 from Golden 1 Credit Union in the amount of $2,875. Once the bank had found it was fraudulent, they closed the account.
Rowe is currently being held at the Kosciusko County Jailhouse, with a $10,000 surety bond and $250 cash bond.
