LEESBURG — Barry E. Long, 59, Leesburg, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital following a two-vehicle accident at 6:57 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at SR 15 and Prairie Street, Leesburg. Long complained of pain to the chest.
Long was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Robert F. Newman, 50, Cromwell.
Police report Ellsworth N. Everest, 78, Warsaw, was eastbound in his 2005 Dodge truck on Prairie Street. Everest stopped at the intersection, looked and did not see any other vehicles as he proceeded to cross SR 15, when he was struck by the Newman vehicle.
Newman was northbound on SR 15, in a 1999 Ford truck, when Everest drove his vehicle into the path of his vehicle. Newman stated he could not avoid the accident.
Damage was estimated up to $10,000.
Leesburg Fire Department, Lutheran EMS Kosciusko, and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
