MENTONE — No one was injured when this grain truck rolled over on SR 25 in Mentone, in front of Wilby’s Gas Station this morning, Monday, Nov. 2. The accident is just west of SR 25 and SR 19 intersection.
According to Mentone Town Marshal Jim Eads, the right front tire on the grain truck fell off and when the wheel mount struck the railroad tracks it caught in the tracks. The grain shifted and caused the truck to roll over. The unidentified driver was checked by paramedics but declined treatment.
The area will be closed until the grain can be removed from the truck, and the wrecker service can upright the truck.
Lutheran EMS Kosciusko, Mentone Fire Department, Mentone Police, and Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded.
