WARSAW — A man serving his sentence in work release, walked away from the facility on Monday, Sept. 21 and was charged with escape Thursday, Sept. 24.
Joshua Michael Emmons, 30, 405 E. Sycamore St., Silver Lake, was sentenced on Sept. 17 to 10 months in the Kosciusko County Jail on a probation violation charge. The sentence was ordered in Kosciusko County Superior Court 3. He reported to the Kosciusko County Work Release Center to serve his sentence the same day. His release date was Feb. 11, 2016.
On Sept. 21 he was terminated form his employment and was told by work release officials he was not going to be allowed to search for employment, but would be allowed to stay as a trustee. Emmons agreed.
At 7:15 p.m. that day he was observed leaving the center without permission and/or consent. Family members were contacted and at 9:10 p.m. he was brought back to the center and then taken to the county jail.
