WARSAW — Two adults and an infant were transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital with what police have reported as miner injuries, following a two-vehicle accident at 11:48 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27. The accident was at Winona Avenue and South Union Street.
Rachael E. Fruit, 23, North Webster and Dustin K. Catanzarite, North Webster, both complained of pain to the neck. Carmen E. Fruit, North Webster, an infant, suffered an abrasion to the face.
Warsaw Police report Marilia K. Lasure, 38, Columbia City, was northbound on South Union Street in her 2007 Chevrolet, and failed to see the stop sign at Winona Avenue. Lasure traveled into the intersection without slowing and hit the 1999 Honda driven by Fruit.
Police report the Honda had multiple air bags deployed. Warsaw Fire Department utilized the JAWS unit to extricate Fruit from the vehicle.
Damage was estimated up to $50,000.
