A 21st birthday celebration ended up in the arrests of the celebrant and four of his guests Saturday evening.
Dylan Whiteford was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a minor after three individuals were found to be intoxicated and another individual was involved in a property damage accident.
Arrested were Abby Nicole Marshall, 18, 407 W. High St., Huntington, charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated; Bridgette Nicole Brubaker, 18, 308 W. Ninth St., North Manchester; Miranda Elaine Terrill, 19, 4363 E CR 900S, Claypool; and Nicholas Holmes, 20, 1082 Old Highway 80, Hallsville, Texas, all charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Events started at 11:51 p.m. Saturday when police were told of an accident in the area of CR 275E, south of Pierceton Road. Police found Abby Nicole Marshall, 18, 407 West High St., Huntington, sitting in the passenger side of a vehicle, in a driveway. The vehicle had extensive damage to the windshield. Marshall could not tell police what her vehicle struck. She told police she had been at a residence celebrating Whiteford’s birthday.
Police found an address for Whiteford and upon going to the residence, learned he no longer lived there but was given his address as 3768 S. CR 275E. When police went to the home, no one answered the door, but as police were preparing to leave, a car pulled in the driveway, exited the vehicle and went inside. The officer went back to the door and knocked. The individual, identified as Whiteford’s father allowed the officer to enter the residence.
Inside officers found four individuals asleep with alcohol containers strewn throughout the home. The occupants, who all admitted to drinking, were given portable breathalyzer tests, except Whiteford. The remaining three were found to be under the influence of alcohol.
