Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Wednesday, Aug. 7, 6:27 a.m. East Center and South McKinley streets. Driver: Jerome M. Short, 49, Ewing Road, Rochester. Four deer ran out into the road. One of the deer collided with Short’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2:48 a.m. Lake City Highway, just west of North Parker Street. Driver: Jeffery M. Staten, 23, Pinecrest Drive, Columbia City. Staten walked to a nearby gas station to ask someone to call police as he had crashed his vehicle. Officers arrived and found Staten to be intoxicated. He was field tested and found to have a BAC of .139 percent. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for a legal blood draw. Results of the test are pending. Damages: up to $5,000

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accident:

Tuesday, Aug. 6, 9:35 a.m. North SR 15, north of CR 900 North, Milford. Driver: Matthew S. Ogan, 39, Nye Street, Warsaw. Ogan was operating a motorcycle. He pulled to the side of the road to adjust his clothing and, when he tried returning to the road, drove over a slight drop along the side of the road causing him to fall over. Damages: up to $2,500
