Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department
Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Friday, July 26, 6:47 a.m. North 100 East and East 450 North, Warsaw. Driver: Lisa M. Fouts, 35, EMS C29 Lane, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500

Friday, July 26, 5:17 a.m. EMS C24 Lane, north of CR 175 East, Warsaw. Driver: Loreen M. Sroufe, 56, EMS C24D Lane, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500

Thursday, July 25, 5:39 p.m. North 800 West and West 300 North, Etna Green. Drivers: Linda E. Schempf, 24, Flaugh Road, Fort Wayne; and Charity A. Bailey, 38, Manhattan Street, Michigan City. Schempf was northbound on CR 800 West and attempted to make a U-turn when she pulled into the path of Bailey’s vehicle. Bailey was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment of back pain. Damages: up to $10,000

Thursday, July 25, 12:55 p.m. North 175 East and East Ridge Valley Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Jeremy T. Nieter, 28, South Lynwood Drive, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000

Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Friday, July 26, 2:10 a.m. Old Road 30 East and Clinic Court, Warsaw. Drivers: Emily G. Franke, 18, West Lincolnway, Larwill; and Jenny L. Shumaker, 47, Clinic Court, Warsaw. Franke was following Shumaker and could not stop in time when Shumaker slowed to make a turn. Damages: less than $1,000

Thursday, July 26, 3:34 p.m. North Parker Street and Husky Trail, Warsaw. Drivers: Carol A. Watkins, 67, Pinecrest Drive, Columbia City; and Terry E. Nine, 57, East 200 North, Warsaw. Watkins said she stopped at the stop sign and when she started to turn she failed to see Nine’s vehicle already in the intersection. Damages: up to $2,500

Thursday, July 26, 11:53 a.m. south McClellan Street and Brown Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Heath A. Simons, 36, Audubon Avenue, Rochester; and Kathleen Madden, 46, Hawthorn Drive, Warsaw. Simons stopped at the intersection and did see Madden’s approaching vehicle, but hesitated on whether to pull out. Simons said the accident was his fault. He complained of right wrist and forearm pain. The children in his vehicle were not hurt. Madden complained of chest pain but refused medical treatment. Damages: up to $10,000

Thursday, July 26, 8:01 a.m. Detroit and West Fort Wayne streets. Driver: Windy N. Fitzpatrick, 35, South 200 West, Claypool. Fitzpatrick pulled into the path of a bicyclist, James Woods, 34, North Harrison Street, Warsaw, saying she was not able to see him in the glare of the sun. Woods struck the vehicle and was thrown to the pavement. He complained of pain to his fingers and ankle and sustained abrasions to his legs and a laceration to his left ear. Damages: under $750
