Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Monday, April 28, 9:08 p.m. South SR 19, Mentone. Driver: Brenda G. Smith, 54, East 300 North, Rochester. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $2,500

Monday, April 28, 7:32 a.m. South SR 25, Warsaw. Driver: Amber Diehl, 27, South 800 West, Mentone. Driver was negotiating a series of sharp curves and a deer ran into her path. Damages: up to $10,000

Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Tuesday, April 29, 11:36 a.m. 3356 Lake City Hwy. Drivers: Julia L. Schultz, 52, Cherokee Circle, Valparaiso; and Courtney M. King, 37, Hoffman Lake Road, Warsaw. Both drivers were backing from parking spaces and collided. Damages: up to $2,500

Warsaw Police
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:

  • Monday, April 28, 7:15 p.m. Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 300 block of Eisenhower Parkway. The case is still under investigation.
  • Monday, April 28, 5:44 p.m. A report of a suspended driver was received.

North Webster Police Department
Officers of the North Webster Police Department recently investigated the following accident and incident and made the following arrest:

Accident

Tuesday, April 22, 10:11 p.m. SR 13. A vehicle driven by Russell K. Jennings II, Flansburg Road, Jackson, Mich. went into a ditch. A piece of plastic from the right front wheel well of the vehicle was knocked loose. The vehicle struck and damaged a steel drainage pipe located in the ditch under Channel Street.

Incident

  • Wednesday, April 23, 3 p.m. East Himes Street. The department received a call of a dog bite. The owner of the dog was given a copy of the report and the dog was quarantined for 10 days.

Arrest

  • Thursday, April 24, 9:13 p.m. West Crystal Flash Road. Cory Eugene Iden, 30, Crystal Flash Road, North Webster, arrested for failure to appear on a misdemeanor. He was taken to the Kosciusko County Jail. He was located with methamphtimine residue on his person. Charges are requested for paraphernalia and possession. Bond: $500 cash

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department

Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following incidents:

  • Monday, May 5, 4:03 a.m. Battery reported at the 300 block of High Street in Silver Lake.
  • Sunday, May 4, 12:24 p.m. Trespassing reported at 5500 block of Woodland Lane in Warsaw.
  • Sunday, May 3, 11:53 a.m. Officers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle at a residence at 2100 block of North 850 East in Pierceton. The vehicle was later located, and Kane Hively and Cameron Mitchell were arrested for theft.
  • Saturday, May 3, 4:37 p.m. Boat batteries stolen from boats at Pic-A-Spot in Warsaw.
  • Friday, May 2, 4:45 p.m. Fraud reported at the 200 block of Hovey Street in Atwood. The incident is still under investigation by KCSD Detective Division.

Syracuse Police Department
Officers of the Syracuse Police Department recently investigated the following incident:

  • Saturday, May 3, 8:21 p.m. Theft reported at the 1000 block of Long Drive in Syracuse.

Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following incidents:

  • Monday, May 5, 4:50 a.m. Armando Sanchez-Resendiz, 30, West 45, Chicago, pulled over for speeding. He was cited for Operator Never Licensed and criminal charges were filed.
  • Sunday, May 4, 11:23 p.m. Warsaw Parks Department reported criminal mischief at 100 block of Canal Street in Warsaw.
  • Sunday, May 4, 10 a.m. Officers responded to an attempted suicide attempt at the 200 block of High Street in Warsaw.
  • Sunday, May 4, 6:25 a.m. Hit and run reported at 1300 block of Center Street in Warsaw. Suspect was driving a black Pontiac Grand Am or Gran Prix.
  • Sunday, May 4, 1:28 a.m. Criminal mischief reported at 2800 block of Ivywood Drive in Warsaw. Twenty-two vehicles were damaged by eggs.
  • Saturday, May 3, 9:07 p.m. Criminal mischief reported at the 900 block of Anchorage Road in Warsaw. Glass was shattered in a storm door by a BB/pellet gun.
  • Friday, May 2, 7:46 p.m. Battery with a deadly weapon reported at the 200 block of Jefferson Street in Warsaw. Buck Slone, 52, of Warsaw, arrested for the incident.
  • Friday, May 2, 7:20 p.m. Battery resulting in bodily injury reported at 400 block of Winona Avenue in Warsaw.

Sunday, May 4, 10:03 a.m. West 700 South near South 600 West, Silver Lake. Drivers: Pamela J. McFarland, 62, SR 14, Akron; and Gary L. Jaynes, 57, Brookfield Circle, Warsaw. McFarland struck the trailer being hauled by Jaynes. Damages: up to $10,000

Sunday, May 4, 6:25 a.m. U.S. 30 near North 875 West, Etna Green. Driver: Patricia M. Sanchez, 39, North 175 East, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer and was arrested for Operator Never Licensed. Damages: up to $5,000

Saturday, May 3, 10:08 a.m. South 700 West near Gault Street, Warsaw. Driver: Mark S. Carter, 41, South 1300 West, Mentone. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000

Saturday, May 3, 12:42 a.m. SR 13 near East 500 North, North Webster. Driver: Andrew S. Hamilton, 27, Old Road 30, Pierceton. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000

Friday, May 2, 11:51 p.m. SR 25 near West 200 South, Warsaw. Driver: Kyle G. Swank, 28, Park Road, Rochester. Swank lost control of his vehicle and slid off the roadway, pinning his vehicle amidst a small group of trees. Damages: up to $1,000

Milford Police Department

Officers of the Milford Police Department recently investigated the following accident:

Friday, May 2, 12:07 p.m. Main Street near Emeline Street, Milford. Drivers: William L. Meyers, 84, North 300 East, Syracuse; and Tonya M. Wright, 20, Main Street, Milford. Meyers backed into Wright. Damages: up to $5,000

Officers of the North Webster Police Department recently investigated the following accident:

Saturday, May 3, 8:51 p.m. SR 13 near Southshore Drive, Syracuse. Driver: Luke M. Tuttle, 36, Harrison Court, Syracuse. Driver struck a deer. Damages: up to $5,000

Warsaw Police Department
Officers of the Warsaw Police Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Sunday, May 4, 6:22 p.m. Harrison Street near Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kezia B. Scherer-Berry, 16, Main Street, Bourbon; and Amanda L. Mabon, 28, Smith Street, Warsaw. Scherer-Berry struck Mabon. Scherer-Berry complained of head and rib pain and was transported to KCH for evaluation. Damages: up to $10,000

Sunday, May 4, 4:10 p.m. Detroit Street near Plaza Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Kelli J. Kreider, 28, South 900 West, South Whitley; Regina M. Hooley, 38, EMSW17 Lane, North Webster; and Justin R. McGinnis, 33, Maple Drive, Warsaw. Kreider pulled in front of Hooley. The collision caused Kreider’s vehicle to spin and strike the front of McGinnis’s vehicle. Damages: up to $10,000

Sunday, May 4, 11:16 a.m. Lake City Highway near Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Renee Neher, 20, Rochdale Circle, Lombard, Ill.; and Donald E. Bailey Jr., 48, SR 19, Converse. Neher was trying to cross Lake City Highway to go onto Commerce Drive. She did not see Bailey and collided with him. The force of the collision caused Bailey’s vehicle to overturn. Neher refused medical treatment at the scene but was later transported to KCH by her mother. Bailey was treated by EMS for neck pain. A passenger in Bailey’s vehicle, Tyler J. Bailey, 20, Converse, was treated for should/upper arm pain by EMS. Damages: up to $10,000

Friday, May 2, 11:28 p.m. Lake City Highway near Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Theresa M. Hissong, 39, U.S. 30, Columbia City; and Lauren A. Miller, 16, Sunset Drive, Winona Lake. Hissong rear-ended Miller. Hissong was charged with OWI with prior BAC of .08 or more and OWI per se. Damages: up to $25,000

Friday, May 2, 4:56 p.m. Lake City Highway near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: David T. Oltman, 40, Spring Pond Cove, Fort Wayne; Victor N. Lim, 60, Ashwood Forest Drive, Osceola; and Dennis M. Wroblewski, 55, William Drive, Winona Lake. Oltman was unable to stop and rear-ended Lim, who was pushed into the rear of Wroblewski’s vehicle. Lim and his passenger, Maria C. Lim, 56, of Osceola, was transported to KCH for chest pains. Wroblewski was treated for neck pain by EMS. Damages: up to $10,000

Warsaw Police Department

Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Wednesday, May 7, 7:11 p.m. Lake City Highway and North Detroit Street. Driver: Seven C. Johnson, 46, North SR 25, Rochester. Johnson, who admitted he had consumed alcohol to police, was eastbound on a motorcycle on Lake City Highway approaching the exit ramp for Detroit Street when he attempted to make a lane change and reportedly struck something in the roadway, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and slide off the roadway into the shoulder. Johnson had an abrasion to his left eye from the crash. Damages: up to $2,500

Wednesday, May 7, 4:50 p.m. East Center Street and South Roosevelt Street. Drivers: Sherry L. Brooks, 50, East Clark Street, Warsaw; and Amy B. Stafford, 41, West 800 South, Claypool. Brooks was eastbound on Center Street when she stopped in traffic behind Stafford. Brooks’ foot slipped from the break and she rear-ended Stafford’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Wednesday, May 7, 11:45 a.m. East Center Street. Drivers: Bryan L. Dawson, 36, North Hartzler Street, Warsaw; Wendy Salgado, 29, Eisenhower Parkway, Warsaw; and Kory J. Rupley, 32, Country Club Drive, Rochester. Dawson was stopped in traffic when Salgado, who was approaching from behind was rear-ended by Rupley’s vehicle causing Salgado’s vehicle to strike into Dawson’s vehicle. Damages: up to $10,000

Officers of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department recently investigated the following accidents:

Sunday, May 11, 10:56 p.m. EMS B61 Lane near EMS B61C Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Andrew L. Gottschalk, 23, EMS B611 Lane, Warsaw. Gottschalk’s vehicle left the edge of the roadway, struck a mailbox, hit a utility pole and continued through a yard. The vehicle struck a retaining wall and overturned. Gottschalk was taken to Parkview Hospital for treatment of injuries. Alcohol was determined to be a factor in the accident. Damages: up to $25,000

Saturday, May 10, 3:47 p.m. SR 13 near North 800 East, Warsaw. Drivers: Kevin J. Harris, 36, SR 13, Pierceton; and Matthew C. Frazier, 29, Hillside Drive, Syracuse. Harris was transporting a mattress in the bed of his truck. He noticed it had come untied, but before he could pull over and retie it, the mattress blew out and struck Frazier’s vehicle. Damages: up to $2,500

Saturday, May 10, 5:48 a.m. South 900 West near West 200 South, Mentone. Driver: Brandon M. Ewing, 20, SR 19, Akron. Ewing fell asleep at the wheel causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a tree. Ewing’s juvenile son was transported to KCH, but no injuries were found. Damages: up to $25,000
